Research

Primary Research: Researching something without using things like the internet or books.

Secondary Research: Researching something using things such as the internet or books.

Qualitative Research: It relies on getting data from first hand observation such as interviews and questionnaires.

Quantitative Research: Analysing and collecting numerical data from things such as surveys.

Legal Considerations: Copyright, exclusive right given to the creator of a piece of work. The original creators can distribute it to others for a fee, usually for a limited time.

Ethical Considerations: It comes into most forms of media since our society is surrounded by moral principles. A set of ethics leads to a code of conduct which people stick to.

YouTube Community Guidelines:

How Does YouTube's copyright policy work?

What is content ID?

It is an automated system that allows copyright owners to identify youtube videos that include they own.

How can content creators be punished for breaching copyright or community guidelines?

Copyright:

They are given three strikes on their videos, the first two strikes have no impact on their account but the third strike could get your account terminated and the videos removed from YouTube.

Community:
They are given a warning which has no penalty to their channel, they also message them on why the warning was issued which then gives the creator a chance to appeal the decision.

Why do you think that YouTube is so harsh with their strike system?

Because they can earn money for content that is not theirs.

Step by Step process of how you can successfully make an income online without breaching any policies:

Advertisements: Ads can be put at the beginning or during the video for the creator to earn some money.

Sponsorships: Creator signs a contract to review their product and then they earn money from it.

Regulatory and Professional Bodies:

Ofcom, Office for communication: Governed by parliament, it makes sure that you paying for your films don't get scammed.

BBFC, British Board of Film Classification: Responsible for age classification across films.

ASA, Advertising Standard Authority: Ensures advertisements on TV or online stick to the UK ruling.

Mind Map

This is my mind map for my vlog ideas, I wrote about what I was planning on doing within those vlogs. I might merge two or more of these ideas together depending on what I am able to film and do during the week.

Vlog Research

In the first part of this video the camera is pointing towards a screen and the Thorpe Park map, it then cuts to his face where he starts to speak about fright night and what is going to happen. As a viewer this video is very captivating and makes me want to go to Thorpe Park to see all of the atractions. There are a lot of close up shots to show all of the detail. In my vlog I will try and recreate some of these shots by using my phone and camera. I am hoping to get a lot of different footage exactly like this vlog as I think it is set up quite nicely and easy to follow.
